There are two main steps for getting your iPhone activated and working. First, you have to become or already be an AT&T wireless customer. You will have to agree to a two year contract agreement. AT&T does offer service for iPhone without a contract but the monthly payments are significantly higher. Someone always told me freedom isn't really free. Another must do when you get a new iPhone is that you have to go online and download the latest version of iTunes software on your laptop, home computer or Mac.

What is iTunes? iTunes is the nifty Apple jukebox software that iPod owners and many other people use to manage music, videos and more. You might ask why would I need iTunes if I don't have an ipod? The reason is that the iPhone is more than just a cell phone and internet device. It has an iPod built into it. Meaning it plays music and videos like the most sophisticated MP3 players that are on the market now.

After you have activated your new iPhone you may want to put your favorite phone numbers as well as appointments, events, mail settings, bookmarks, music, movies, TV shows, podcasts and photos into your new iPhone. This is done one or two ways. You can either put the phone numbers in one by one or you can use a process called syncing. Usually synching is very easy once you get the hang of it.

There are many different reasons why people buy the iPhone. The iPhone's most important task in my opinion is serving as a cell phone. Making and receiving phone calls is relatively the same as for any other phone or cell phone. This wireless phone has a touch pad that is virtual. Meaning you touch the numbers appearing on the screen and it acts like you are touching an actual keypad for any telephone. Even giving off the same tones when you press the numbers on the virtual screen that you would hear from your home telephone. The phone also has speaker phone capability as well as conference calling and call waiting.

Over all I am like most. Feeling that the iPhone is one of the greatest inventions our time. There are plenty cool tricks the iphone can do. One major trick is that the iPhone has fantastic graphics for video games. You can download from iTunes or directly from the phone: video games, music videos, movies, audio books and songs. The list seems to just go on and on as far as what this fancy cell phone can do. New software or what is called "apps" short for applications are being added everyday.

You can purchase an iPhone by going to the At&t website or you can go to the Apple website. If you want to buy the iPhone as cheaply as possible you can go to Ebay. On Ebay you can also find a used iPhone that is a lot cheaper. However, buyer beware if you are going to buy from Ebay. Always go with some one who is a power seller on Ebay and has a great reputation for product delivery.
